Romo Says He’s ‘Good To Go’ For Monday Night

Tony Romo’s punctured lung is reportedly all healed up and his broken rib is apparently not going to keep him out of action on Monday night when the Dallas Cowboys welcome the Washington Redskins to town. He’s been upgraded to ‘probable’ on the official NFL injury report and the quarterback himself says that he’s ‘good to go’.
Romo demonstrated considerable toughness last week when he returned to the game and led the Cowboys to victory despite a broken rib and what was later revealed to be a punctured lung. He sat out of practice for much of the week and has been fitted with a ‘flak jacket’ in hopes to protect his ribs. He’s ready for action:
“I’m getting better as the week goes on. I’ll deal with it over the course of the next month, but I’ll be good to go this week.”
Romo is nonplussed by some tough talk from the Redskins DeAngelo Hall who said that he’s hoping to blitz and target the injured ribs:
“If he’s blitzing, that means he’s not covering. So we’ll attack his guy he’s covering.”
Earlier this week, Romo gave props to the equipment personnel for his protective vest:
“I think I’ll be protected. The equipment room guys have done a great job of going in there three or four times, going through different stuff. I think we have a pretty good plan. It’s something that’ll be very stable. They’ve done a good job, I think, so far. I’ll have to test it out as we get closer, but [it's] not affecting my throwing motion and things of that nature.”
He also had some positive words for the Cowboys’ medical staff:
“The doctors and training staff have talked extensively with me about the whole situation and what everything entails. That’s something you take into account. If there was an opportunity or chance you could really do something that could be really damaging, obviously I think we wouldn’t put someone in that position. If I go out there, you feel pretty confident you’re in the clear in that regard. Now obviously, when you have an injury stuff can happen.”
Most of the sportsbooks in Nevada and offshore now have a line on the game after having it off the board for much of the week. Dallas is a -3′ point home favorite with the total set at 46.
