Yahya Vs Jung Added To Fight For The Troops 2 Card.

The last we saw Chan Sung Jung he was being knocked out by George Roop in a fantastic fashion. Weeks later he posted a blog on his web site, that was eventually translated to English, that minutes after the fight he was pretty sure he was quitting mixed martial arts. In the same blog, that can be found at Tri-coasta.com, he said he decided to give it one more shot.
Wallid Ismail, yahya’s manager, told Portal do Vale Tudo’s weekly radio show that former WEC bantamweight title contender Rani Yahya would be facing Jung. The fight will most likely happen at The Fight For the Troops 2 card in January at Fort Hood. Ismail said “Rani is really excited for his first fight in the UFC, It’ll be a great fight, and everything that Rani needs to bring new motivation to his career.”
Jung’s more commonly known as his nick name “The Korean Zombie,” because of his always coming forward style that would ignore strikes coming from his opponents. That was until Roop knocked him out…cold. Jung said in the blog “On the way to the hospital – as they drew my blood and performed the CT scan – I could only think one thing,That I would never fight again. All I could think about was my friend, Jun Seok. I would go learn his trade and work alongside him, like my friends, at a regular job.”
He also talked about how this is not how he thought it would end, and he put too much work in to have it end in this fashion. “As I continued to question my relevance in MMA…Fighting in Korea, fighting in Japan, overcoming all those odds, to end it like this? Is this why I delayed going to the army? Is this why I’ve been competing since high school? The worst part being, Is this the best I can do?”
Jung concluded the blog by saying “So, I’ve decided to give this one more shot. But, the pride I once had for fighting ‘Zombie Style’ has been shattered. It’s okay if everyone boos me. It’s okay if no one in the world ever cheers for me again. For everyone who has supported me thus far, that I have let down,
I make this promise to you, that I will never fight with the same style, ever again.”
I personally think that if you weren’t a Jung fan before this blog post, that you are probably one now. Jung is a warrior, and a true fighter, who was always trying to finish fights. His fight, earlier this year, against Leonard Garcia was a travesty of a decision that even the commentators balked at. A knock out loss isn’t enough to stop me from being a Jung fan.
