With another successful event in the books we’re left with the aftermath of UFC 128: Rua vs. Jones which took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. As is always the case in combat sports, some fighters were left with more than just some bumps and bruises. Following doctor examinations on the participants Nick Lembo of the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board doled out a total of ten medical suspensions with both main event combatants making the list. Here’s the rundown of who will be temporarily sidelined and why:

-Mauricio “Shogun” Rua faced a mandatory 60 day suspension following his TKO loss as well as an indefinite suspension as he awaits the results of a CT head scan.

-Jon “Bones” Jones also faces an indefinite suspension following his championship win as he waits on the results of an MRI and X-Ray on his right hand.

-Brendan “The Hybrid” Schaub faced not only a 60 medical suspension for cuts to his face but also an indefinite suspension due to a pending CT scan of his orbital bones.

-Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic is out for 30 days following his KO loss at the hands of Schaub and will also be out indefinitely following a CT scan of his head.

-Kamal Shalorous faces an indefinite suspension as he waits for the results of a CT scan of his orbital bones.

-Eliot Marshall will be on the shelf for at least 30 days after being TKO’d and also is suspended indefinitely as he requires a CT scan for his head.

-Luiz Cane sustained a possible injury to his left thumb and is out indefinitely while X-rays are being evaluated.

-Edson Barbosa is suspended indefinitely as he needed x-rays on his right hand and knee.

-Ian Loveland will require a scan on his right ankle following his loss to Benavidez and is out indefinitely as he awaits clearance.

-Raphael Assunção will be on the shelf for 30 days following his first round KO loss to Erik Koch.
