Fedor Vs Silva Aftermath

Now that the dust is settling from Strikeforce Fedor Vs Silva, we are slowly hearing what everyone is planning for the future. Obviously, the question on everyones mind is whether or not Fedor Emelianenko will ever fight again.
When you ask Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker, he says Fedor is not done, and he would like for Fedor to re-enter the tournament as an alternate. I can’t think of a better way for him to discredit this whole tournament. Now we are hearing that if a replacement isn’t needed, Coker would like to schedule Fedor versus the loser of Allistair Overeem and Febricio Werdum.
We don’t know what Fedor will end up doing, but we are now hearing about the mood in the locker room of Fedor. Fedor’s attorney, Steven Bash, said the mood was somber. He also said that he wasn’t sure if Fedor was hell bent on retiring, or if he was just being emotional after a rough loss. Check out the video below:
Andrei Arlovski also suffered a loss on Saturday night, but it was much worse then Fedor’s loss. Arlovski has now been knocked out 3 times out of his last four fights. Many are wondering if the fighter should be hanging it up.
Some people think Arlovski should be hanging up the 4 ounce gloves, and some are even saying that no commission should even consider giving him a license. Arlovski used to be the guy who would take people down and beat them up on the floor, but somewhere along the line he developed a decent striking acumen that lead him to more stand up wars. Some are saying that he should go back to the drawing board, and maybe come up with a different game plan. However, thats what Arlovski did before this camp. He went to New Mexico to train and game plan with famous trainer Greg Jackson. He still ended up with the same result. I think Arlovski has something to bring to the table for the sport of MMA, but I think his time in the cage is done. I would like to see him develop more fighters, and mentor up and comers.
Sergei Kharitonov, the man who knocked out Arlovski, is now dealing with some backlash. If he KO’d a different fighter, many people would be talking about what a great fight he had. Now people are selling him short, and inferring that anyone would be able to knock out Arlovski. This was a big win for Sergei, and it will be interesting to see how he progresses in the tournament.
