Bellator 41

Bellator 41 takes place tonight at the Cocopah Resort and Casino in Somerton, AZ, and all fighters weighed in and all fights will take place as planned. The event will feature two non title super-fights featuring 2 of Bellator’s Champions.

Featherweight Champion Joe Warren will square off in the Bellator cage against Marcos “Loro” Galvão. This will either be an intense ground battle, or a stalemate that turns into a kick boxing fight. Warren is the current featherweight champion, and has a laundry list of NCAA Division 1 wrestling accolades. Galvão has fought all over the world himself, and is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Nova Uniao founder André Pederneiras. Galvão will probably spend sometime on his back in this fight, but if Warren thinks he is going to just lay there he will have another thing coming.

In the Co-Main event, Bellator Bantamweight World Champion Zack Makovsky will take on an undefeated Brazilian jiu-jitsu black-belt Chad Robichaux. Robichaux is a Gracie Barra student who has amassed 11 MMA wins in his lengthy career as he took a lot time off since his first fight in 1999. Reigning champion Makovsky has a loss as recent as 2009, but fought 6 times in 2010 and won them all of them. He submitted three of them in the first round, and his wrestling/grappling pedigree shouldn’t be overlooked either as he plenty of division 1 experience himself and many tournament wins.

Bellator 41 will be broadcast LIVE on Saturday, April 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on MTV2.
