Dana White Says Silva Vs. GSP Could Happen This Year

UFC President Dana White was part of the question and answer session before the weigh ins for this weekends past fight. Dana, in the past, has scoffed at the idea that GSP Vs Anderson Silva would be a good fight, and that Anderson would beat GSP. He seems to be changing his tune, he told the troops, “If Silva wins against Vitor Belfort at UFC 126, then Georges St-Pierre needs to beat Jake Shields in Toronto at UFC 129.If that happens, then we’re probably going to do that fight between St-Pierre and Silva. If they both win, that fight makes all the sense in the world. Georges St-Pierre – he would move to 185 to fight Silva and stay at that weight and not go back to 170. Should they win their next fights, that fight will probably happen this year.”

Melvin Guillard Comments On White’s Critiques Of Greg Jackson

Especially coming off of a KO of the night win, Guillard was asked at the press conference if he had anything to say about Dana White’s criticisms of his Coach Greg Jackson. Guillard said “He’s the boss. At the end of the day, I can’t change how he feels. If he said that about our camp, that’s how he felt. I’m not here to bash my boss and I’m not here to take sides and bash my team or my coach. We do our jobs in the cage and we get our wins. Georges St-Pierre’s still holdin’ onto the welterweight belt and guys like me, Clay Guida and Carlos Condit are at the top of the ranks, so we’re doin’ something right. Maybe at the time [he said it] he was upset for some reason and maybe he just felt that way. I don’t know the reason behind it. I never really questioned it. I never really got into a deep discussion about it, but I know that we’re just gonna continue to do our jobs as a team and we’re going to keep on winning fights.”
