Tito Ortiz Out, Phil Davis In, Against Lil Nog

Tito Ortiz “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” has pulled out of his upcoming fight against Minotoro Nogueira. Dana White announced via twitter that Tito pulled out with a cut he sustained during training for his fight in 30 days. White also announced that Phil Davis will be filling in, and in my humble opinion, is a much better fight. This is a big step up in competition for Phil Davis, and he will certainly earn some respect from the UFC brass for stepping up this late in the game. A win from Phil Davis in this fight will certainly put him on the map. Phil Davis is undefeated, and will bill bet a tough fight for Lil Nog.

Kenny Florian To Face Diego Nunes

Although the fight hasn’t been confirmed by the UFC yet, Kenny Florian announced via his twitter account that he will be facing Diego Nunes at UFC 131. KenFlo said he wanted a top shelf featherweight for his debut, and he got one. Diego Nunes is 5-1 under Zuffa, and is coming off of a decision win over former featherweight champion Mike Brown. The card is slated to take place in Vancouver, and its stacking up fast. The main event will decide the number one contender for the Heavyweight Title as Junior Dos Santos and Brock Lesnar face off. The event will also feature the return of Shane Carwin.

Dustin Poirier Vs Rani Yahya

Also at UFC 131, Dustin Poirier will be fighting at Rani Yahya at 145lbs. Poirier confirmed via twitter the fight would be taking place. He will have his hands full when he faces the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace. Poirier is riding a two fight win streak and is coming off of a decision win against Josh Grispi at UFC 125. Yahya last competed at UFC “Fight for the Troops 2” in January, when he defeated former World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight king Mike Thomas Brown by unanimous decision. A respected Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, the 26-year-old won a gold medal at the 2007 Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championships.
