The Worst Super Bowl Commercials Ever

The Super Bowl is not only a huge event for the sports betting industry–it’s also the biggest day for the advertising industry and the TV commercials broadcast during the game have become a big storyline. Companies who drop the millions of dollars necessary to buy a Super Bowl spot don’t always get much out of it for a number of reasons–not the least of which is a downright awful commercial. The ad agency journal Advertising Age is currently polling its readership to determine the worst Super Bowl commercial of all time. They’ve currently got 14 nominees available for viewing, and I’ve posted my ‘favorites’ here. We’ll keep you updated as the results come in. At the very least, you should watch these for educational purposes. A number of sportsbooks let you bet on Super Bowl commercials, more specifically which one will receive the highest approval rating from viewers. The winner will look nothing like any of these:

At the depths of the most recent recession, it quickly became a ‘buyers market’ for Super Bowl ads. Apparently, the NFL and the TV networks also lowered their standards to late night infomercial level.
