Frustrated doesn’t even begin to describe how Philadelphia coach Peter Laviolette. At this point, he seems like he is just trying to stop the bleeding, and get another win. There is no doubt they need to make changes, but they still need to win games. They have only managed to win 3 games so far this year, and only one of them was on the road.

The most recent lost came by the way of the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 2-1 game. “It’s completely frustrating,” Laviolette said after dropping five out of the last six games. “We got exactly what we deserved tonight. You don’t show up to compete, you don’t execute, you don’t play the game with energy and emotion, you’re going to lose all the time. The first 40 minutes there was nothing there. There was no jam to our game. We played mindless hockey without any energy, without any passion.”

Flyers forward Ville Leino said of the game: “We were just too late to win a hockey game, it doesn’t matter what team it’s against. No emotion, no energy, and we just couldn’t get it going. Nobody could get it going. You can’t win a hockey game like that.”

The Flyers face the Buffalo Sabers for the first of four meetings this season. Both teams are not playing the type of hockey they want too. The Flyers are having a time winning, and the Sabres are fourth in their division after a very slow start.

Sabres coach Lindy Ruff commented after a recent 4-2 to the Ottawa Senators. “We’ve played pretty good hockey on the road and we’ve made some big mistakes and played a couple of real bad games at home.”

There is no doubt both of these teams are counting on this game as a must win, and it should make for some fun hockey. They will be playing Philadelphia and the puck is set to drop at 7:30 Est.
