Thanks to a spate of injuries and the always annoying bye weeks, filling out fantasy lineups has become an arduous process in 2012. The running back position, in particular, is so thin, players such as Philip Tanner, William Powell and Jamie Harper are finding their ways into starting lineups. Desperate for plug-ins in Week 7? Here are some names to consider.

Josh Freeman (vs. NO) – The Saints defense is terrible, and it’s doubtful a week off cured what ails them. Freeman has been on fire the last two games, tossing for 627 yards and four touchdowns. The receiving combo of Vinnie Jackson and Mike Williams is paying big dividends with 35 catches and seven scores. Get all your Bucs active.

Felix Jones (@ CAR) – DeMarco Murray is out. The Panthers run defense is yielding 127 yards per game. Relying on Felix is never a sure thing, but this is about as beautiful a matchup as he’ll ever get, provided he can finish the game unscathed, which is improbable. McCoy, Turner, Charles, Bush and McGahee owners could do worse.

Daryl Richardson (vs. GB) – Richardson has been the best Rams back in 2012. Either Steven Jackson has hit the wall or he’s in Jeff Fisher’s doghouse. Whatever the case, Richardson is getting increased reps on third down and at the goal line. The Packers have been decent versus the run, but odds are St. Louis will be playing from behind all day, meaning lots of garbage time checkdowns

Josh Gordon (@ IND) – Someone had to emerge as the Browns go-to option in the passing game and rookie Josh Gordon appears to be the guy. He’s not getting a ton of looks, but he’s making the most of his receptions with three touchdowns in the last two weeks. The Colts have been surprisingly stiff against the pass, so temper your expectations.

Jeremy Kerley (@ NE) – The Jets offense is one part rollercoaster, two parts house of horrors. With Santonio Holmes done for the year and Dustin Keller nicked, Kerley is the most reliable target for Mark Sanchez. And it doesn’t hurt that the Pats secondary ranks 28th in he league.

Brandon Myers (vs. JAX) – Quick, name the Raiders leading receiver? If you answered tight end Brandon Myers, stick a gold star on your dome. The unheralded fourth-year player has never found the end zone in his three-plus seasons. On Sunday, that will all change.
