Week 4 Fantasy Football Picks

The dreaded bye weeks are already here. With the Steelers and Colts taking this Sunday off, owners of Big Ben, Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown, Andrew Luck and Reggie Wayne will be looking for reinforcements. In addition, with players like Mike Vick, Matt Stafford, Steven Jackson, Chris Johnson, Hakeem Nicks and Marques Colston either struggling or hurt, finding serviceable bench options will be critical. Here are some names to consider.
Josh Freeman (Bucs) – After witnessing Freeman’s woeful 10-28, 110 yards, two interception horror show last week, endorsing him might sound insane. Point taken. However, the Redskins pass defense ranks 31st and was just carved up by Andy Dalton. If you need him, get Freeman in your lineup, ASAP.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis (Bengals) – Owners probably panicked a bit after last Sunday’s poor showing, but the Law Firm is still firmly entrenched as the Bengals top runner. He’ll prove that against a Jaguars defense that has yielded six touchdowns to opposing running backs so far.
Ryan Williams (Cardinals) – The Dolphins run defense is stout, so use Williams at your own risk. The positive news is he looked spry in mop up duty versus the Eagles in Week 3, and with Beanie Wells hurt again, the job is Williams to win or lose. If you’re desperate for a flex player, he’s a decent choice.
Eric Decker (Broncos) – If Peyton Manning an the uneven Broncos aerial attack is going to get healthy, this is the week. The Raiders secondary has been skewered by Ryan Tannehill and Ben Roethlisberger in consecutive games. Yeah, they’re not very good. Decker has yet to find the end zone in 2012, but look for that to change on Sunday.
Leonard Hankerson (Redskins) – Speaking of porous pass defenses, the Bucs rank dead last. To be fair, most of the damage was inflicted by Eli Manning in Week 2 when he lit them up for 510 yards. That said, they are still vulnerable. Hankerson has flashed and RG III is throwing a lot due to the Skins being behind. You could do worse for a number three receiver.
Owen Daniels (Texans) – Daniels is a hit or miss player, but he did score last week. Factor in the Titans allowing six touchdowns to tight ends and Daniels becomes more appealing. With Andre Johnson the only consistent outside option, expect Matt Schaub to find #81 a few times.
