Cleveland Browns v Philadelphia Eagles

Chris Johnson and Steven Jackson owners are scratching their heads. Same can be said for those who spent an early pick on Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Matt Stafford and Cam Newton. Ditto anyone who pegged Aaron Hernandez and Fred Davis. Needless to say, after only two weeks there are problems and conundrums all across the fantasy landscape. If you need help, here are some options.

Andrew Luck (Colts) – If you drafted Luck as a backup, it might be time to slide him into your lineup if you aren’t feeling confident about your starter. The Jags secondary is suspect and the Colts are showing little inclination (or ability) to run the ball. 250-plus yards and two touchdowns sounds about right for the rook.

Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) – Looked solid in Week 1, then vanished in Week 2 after “bumping” his surgically repaired knee. Good news is the knee is fine. Better news is the Saints rush defense is ranked dead last. If Charles doesn’t get it done this week, alternatives will have to be considered.

Kevin Smith (Lions) – Smith has been active through two games and is actually serviceable as a flex play or a low end number two back. The Titans are yielding 155 yards per game on the ground and look like one of the worst teams in the league thus far. Start all your Lions.

Jason Avant (Eagles) – Jeremy Maclin won’t play due to a sore hip. While Avant is hardly a sure thing to increase his output, he did log eight catches for 110 yards and a touchdown with Maclin sidelined last November in a loss to the Patriots. With Patrick Peterson likely to shadow DeSean Jackson, expect Avant to get a few more targets.

Andrew Hawkins (Bengals) – The Bengals and Redskins defenses are both beat up and playing poorly. Look for a shootout in this one. Hawkins has more receiving yards than A.J. Green and is a threat to score in the open field. If you’re searching for a number three wideout, he’s worth a look.

Dennis Pita (Ravens) – With Anquan Boldin showing his age and Torrey Smith running 9-routes all game, Pitta has become Joe Flacco’s security blanket. He’s not a speed tight end by any means, but he is getting consistent targets and is a legit red zone target.
