NFL Week 11 Preview: Buffalo Bills at Cincinnati Bengals
Added on Nov 19, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
The disappointing Cincinnati Bengals and rebuilding Buffalo Bills face off in Week 11 NFL action. Cincinnati has sort of been overshadowed by the Dallas Cowboys’ train wreck, but they’re 2-7 SU and unlike the Cowboys there doesn’t seem to be a lot of urgency to change that. Buffalo is only 1-8 ATS but is starting to show some progress on both sides of the ball.

The Cincinnati Bengals may be in worse shape than the Dallas Cowboys. One big difference–Jerry Jones realizes that there’s a problem and changes need to be made with extreme urgency. In Cincinnati, there’s more of a feeling of resignation. Before the two game blowout streak that finally resulted in Wade Phillips’ firing the Cowboys had been competitive in most every game. The Bengals, on the other hand, haven’t played hard at all this season. Marvin Lewis knows he’s a goner and is likely spending as much time networking for a gig next season as coaching the team. And its not like there’s going to be any leadership coming from the players.
Buffalo finally put one in the win column last weekend and the same effort here will get another victory. Cincinnati has been a horrible pointspread investment in recent years and are currently in the midst of a 4-13 ATS run and a 1-10 ATS run as a favorite. The Bengals enter this game having lost six straight SU going 1-5 ATS. Assuming Cincinnati does care, they’re going to be distracted by the quick 4 day turnaround to a Thanksgiving Day contest against the New York Jets. Either way, they’re going to be looking past the scrappy Bills and they simply don’t have the talent to do that. The Bills’ last three losses have come by 3 points each and that same effort will get a pointspread cover here. We don’t think the points will come into play, however, as we expect Buffalo to win outright.
Bet Buffalo Bills +5′ over Cincinnati Bengals
