NFL Betting Preview: Tennessee Titans at San Diego Chargers
Added on Oct 28, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Big day of NFL betting on Sunday and in this preview we’ll look at a matchup between the Tennessee Titans and one of the more disappointing teams in the league this season, the San Diego Chargers. The Titans are leading the AFC South with a 5-2 record including a perfect 3-0 mark on the road. San Diego, meanwhile, is tied for last place in the AFC West with a 2-5 record.

When it comes to sports handicapping, its important to remember this time honored rule: no team is as good as they look at their best and no team is as bad as they look at their worst. This game sets up perfectly for that concept to come into play–Tennessee is off of a pair of almost effortless back to back victories. San Diego has managed to lose 5 of their first 7 games despite strong stats on both sides of the ball. The result is a line that offers good value simply by playing ‘on’ the team that’s struggled and against the one that hasn’t.
Vince Young is expected to get the start at quarterback for Tennessee, though his mobility may be limited by his recent knee injury. Even if it doesn’t undermine his effectiveness, he won’t have an easy time against the best defense that Tennessee has faced on the road all season. The Chargers’ problems have been on special teams, combined with careless play and just plain bad luck. Everything else is in good shape, particularly QB Philip Rivers who is having a very good season. Rivers is also the best quarterback that the Titans have faced all year. Ultimately, this looks like a matchup between an underacheiving team that is due for a big win and a team that’s had it a bit too easily lately. The Chargers won easily at Tennessee last year (42-17) and the personnel is largely the same. We look for the result to be similar this time around.

Titans are always up for a challenge. Tennessee may have lost last year. Although, I think the game may be close. I see Titans winning this game. Titans have great receivers and running backs. I think they’ll give the Chargers a good game. GO TITANS !!!

SAME PERSONNEL?!! Vincent Jackson? LT? Malcolm Floyd looks like he is not gonna play. Gates is banged up. Please tell me you don’t really think the game is gonna go how it went last year. Tell me who is gonna guard kenny britt one on one and if you double team him cj is back there. San Diego matches up terribly with the Titans. Rivers will have a nice day because the Titans run a bend but dont break defense but they will be kicking field goals all day. Titans win by a touchdown and the only reason its that close is because its in san diego. The atmosphere will be crazy because if the chargers lose then it is “panic” time. Go Titans!!
