Giants’ Bradshaw Out of Monday Night Game Against Saints

The New York Giants have been a very erratic team this season and injuries have played a big part. On Friday the team confirmed that they’ll be without running back Ahmad Bradshaw again on Monday night as they play the New Orleans Saints. Bradshaw has been sidelined with a foot injury and initially was optimistic about returning to the lineup this week.
Bradshaw has already missed four games with a broken bone in his foot. Brandon Jacobs has received the bulk of the work at running back in his absence and should carry the load again against the Saints. Jacobs had a dismal effort against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Giants’ previous game and rubbed some fans the wrong way with his comments about their booing of his efforts:
“That’s the best thing they do around here is boo.”
Later in the week he clarified his words:
“We’ve got a lot of people that’s pulling for us. We’ve got a lot of great fans that’s out there and want us to go out there and do good. For all of the people that have supported us from Day 1, we’ve got to go out there and do our best for them.”
The offensive line is also being reshuffled due to injury with guard David Diehl likely moving over to tackle:
“Nothing’s been declared yet. I’ve been playing some [left guard] during practice, playing next to Boothe, next to Stacy as well. This is nothing new for me. This is part of being a guy who can play multiple positions. If things happen, if guys go down, I’m capable of moving. Obviously, I know what to do at left tackle.”
Middle lineback Michael Boley is listed as ‘questionable’ which could give rookie Mark Herzlich his second start at the position. Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell is pleased with what he’s seen out of Herzlich so far:
“I thought he was commanding in the huddle. I thought he was decisive in his reads and I thought he gained a lot of respect from his teammates by the way he played that football game.”
The Giants are a +7 point NFL betting underdog against the Saints on Monday night with the total set at 51.
