Fantasy Football Week 8: Start ‘Em
Added on Oct 29, 2010 by Barry in
Quarterback
Matt Schaub, Houston Texans
The Houston Texans pulled off the seemingly impossible in Week 1 when they were able to get the best of their division rivals in the Indianapolis Colts.
In Week 8, Peyton Manning and company will have a chance to get some revenge as they two teams will square off once again, but this time around it might be Matt Schaub and the air attack that dominate the Colts secondary.
Running Back
Arian Foster, Houston Texans
In Week 1, running back Arian Foster had a career game against the Indianapolis Colts as he was able to torch their defense for 231 yards and three rushing touchdowns.
Obviously, the Colts defense will try and clamp down on the Texans up and coming running back, but I am not so sure they will be able to contain him as he is must start for Week 8.
Wide Receiver
Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions may only have one win on the season, but in Week 8 they will get their starting quarterback back in Matthew Stafford and the offense could have a big day!
With that being said, the one player on the Lions that stands to benefit the most this week from the return of Stafford is superstar wide receiver Calvin Johnson. This makes Megatron a huge fantasy threat!
Tight End
Zach Miller, Oakland Raiders
Last week the Oakland Raiders offense was able to put up a historic number on the scoreboard as they lit up the division rival Denver Broncos for franchise-high 59 points.
Not only was the running game firing on all cylinders with running back Darren McFadden having his best game as pro, but the passing game was also clicking with quarterback Jason Campbell finding a new favorite target in tight end Zach Miller.
I expect Miller to have another good game this weekend against the Seattle Seahawks.
Defense
New York Jets
The Green Bay Packers may have been a Super Bowl title contender coming into this NFL regular season, but with seemingly countless injuries, they have failed to live up to expectations and have struggled over the last few weeks.
The New York Jets on the other hand are arguably the best team in the league with a lockdown defense and will look to get their sixth win of the season by dominating the Green Bay Packers all day long in Week 8.
