Fantasy Football Week 8: Sit ‘Em
Added on Oct 29, 2010 by Barry in
Quarterback
Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings
This should be a no-brainer for most of you fantasy football gurus out there, but some people take unwarranted risks like starting Brett Favre in a week that he could sit out for the first time since 1992.
First of all, if Favre is your number one quarterback on your fantasy team then you got problems, but if he is your backup and your go to guy is on a bye or injured, then start looking for viable pickup like Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Running Back
Jahvid Best, Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are one of the most talented teams in the NFL right now with a great young core of players, but it doesn’t show in the win column this season.
Fortunately, they have one of the best running backs in the league in rookie Jahvid Best, but if he is your stud running back I would bench him this week as he is still recovering from a turf toe.
Wide Receiver
Roy Williams, Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys had arguably the most potent in the league before this NFL regular season began, but despite having a few good weeks offensively, that might be all over now with Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo basically out for the rest of the season.
With that being said, wide receivers Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Roy Williams stand to suffer the most.
Tight End
Owen Daniels, Houston Texans
The Texans might have to go strictly with the passing game this weekend against the Colts as the Indianapolis secondary will almost certainly clamp down on the ground game, but even though Matt Schaub is poised for a big day, I wouldn’t count on tight end Owen Daniels benefiting as he is still recovering from a knee injury and is questionable for Week 8.
Defense
Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings used to have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but this has been a down year and this week it will most likely get torn apart by the potent offense of the New England Patriots.
