Fantasy Football: Are Buffalo Bills Players Legitimate Pickups?
Added on Oct 27, 2010 by Barry in
At this point in the NFL regular season a lot big-name players seem to get hurt week in and week out and that can take a serious toll on your fantasy football team as you can lose some of your best players and quickly slip to the bottom of your league.
A perfect example of this has been the serious injuries sustained to big-name players like Jermichael Finley (Green Bay Packers), DeSean Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles), Dallas Clark (Indianapolis Colts) and Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys) over the past couple of weeks. With the exception of Jackson and Romo, the rest of the players will be out for the season, but even Romo should be dropped at this point in time as he is set to miss 6 to 8 weeks which is pretty much the rest of the NFL regular season.
Fortunately, if you do your homework and see what backups begin to step up, you can completely turn around your season and get back into playoff contention.
One of the teams you should start to look at for possible backups is the Buffalo Bills. They may be the only team left in the NFL without a win right now, but they have some players that are just blowing up in terms of fantasy football value and could help any team get better.
The one player everyone is talking about right now is quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick who blew up last week with 394 total yards (374 passing, 20 rushing) and four touchdowns. Not only was this performance impressive to say the least from Fitzpatrick, but he did this against the Baltimore Ravens defense.
Along with Fitzpatrick under center, the Buffalo Bills also have an up and coming receiving corps with wide receiver Lee Evans leading the way and Steve Johnson not far behind him. Last week Evans finished with 102 yards and three touchdowns while Johnson added 158 yards and a touchdown.
Needless to say, this guys are for real and if they are available in your league, take advantage and pick them up now!
