DeSean Jackson To Play Versus Colts

Three weeks after suffering a severe concussion in a collision with Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson, Eagles wide receiver is set to return to the field on Sunday to face the Indianapolis Colts. He has passed all post-concussion tests and according to head coach Andy Reid, is “feeling well and is ready to roll.” Barring a sudden setback between now and kickoff, it looks as if D-Jax will be back in the lineup.
Jackson will also be wearing a new helmet designed by Schutt that is supposed to reduce the risk of head injuries. He has been diagnosed with two concussions in the last twelve months, so the hope is the new headgear will provide the diminutive wideout some much needed additional protection.
Quarterback Michael Vick and left tackle Jason Peters are also back from rib cartilage and knee ailments respectively. This is all good news for an Eagles offense that might find themselves in a shootout against Indy. Peyton Manning is 3-0 versus Philly and the Colts have scored at least 35 points in all three meetings.
Jackson’s explosiveness and deep speed makes him one of the league’s most dangerous playmakers. Having him healthy is vital to the Eagles attack. However, the Colts secondary has allowed only eight touchdowns in seven games, so Jackson may have a tough time finding the end zone on Sunday.
