Week 4 of the college football season is upon us so let’s preview some of the biggest games this weekend.
The #4 ranked Mississippi Rebels play in a special Thursday college football game and they are on the road against their SEC-rival South Carolina Gamecocks. Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks are 2-1 with their only loss a close 37-41 finish against the Georgia Bulldogs while the Rebels have two easy wins against lesser competition.
North Carolina is on the road against Georgia Tech on Saturday and this college football battle should be one of the better games on the week 4 schedule. Georgia Tech is coming off a loss to Miami while the Tar Heels are undefeated. This is one of the two games on tap for Saturday in which two top-25 teams square off.
The other top-25 matchup pits #9 Miami against #11 Virginia Tech. Miami is undefeated and holds wins over #18 Florida State and #14 Georgia Tech while the Hokies lost their opener against Alabama but beat #19 Nebraska in the closing seconds in their last game. This one sets up for a low-scoring battle that either team could win.
Texas Tech and #17 Houston meet up in what could be the highest scoring game of the entire season. Houston shocked #5 Oklahoma State last time out and averages 50 points a game while the Red Raiders average nearly 40 and were very competitive last time out in a loss to #5 Texas.
Iowa versus #5 Penn State, #8 California against Oregon, and Arkansas against #4 Alabama are other games on the week 4 college football schedule that you definitely won’t want to miss.
