By in large, NFL preseason games are unwatchable. You can tell most of the players are just going through the motions and crossing their fingers they don’t get seriously injured in a game that counts for nothing. However, on occasion, we get treated to some spectacular plays and bonecrushing hits.

Such was the case last Friday when the Eagles played the Chiefs. Birds’ cornerback Asante Samuel has a reputation as being an elite ballhawk, but he’s also considered to be soft when it comes to tackling. Well, he didn’t look soft when he lowered the boom on dynamic rookie running back/wide receiver Dexter McCluster. I could do without all the posturing, but it’s still a solid hit.
