Quarterback

Sam Bradford, St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams have been an NFL franchise on the decline for quite some time now and the one position they have been dying to some stability at is the quarterback position and they think they have found their man in former Heisman trophy winner Sam Bradford out of Oklahoma.

Even though Bradford is the future face of the franchise and could quite possibly be a perennial Pro Bowler in the years to come, this season will be a rough one for the young quarterback as he will more than likely end up on his back more times than starring in highlight reels.

With that being said, Bradford is fantasy football poison this season and unless he turns out to be the next Matt Ryan, this kid is headed for a long season of disappointment.

Other notable QBs: Matt Leinart, Arizona Cardinals; Mark Sanchez, New York Jets; Jake Delhomme, Cleveland Browns; Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos

Running Back

Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders

A few years ago, the Oakland Raiders looked like they might finally be able to get some momentum going and make a run at the playoffs after drafting both quarterback JaMarcus Russell (2007) and running back Darren McFadden (2008) in consecutive seasons.

Unfortunately, things haven’t worked out for the Silver and Black as they have continued to struggle despite drafting these once promising young players.

This season McFadden will be in a make of break situation in Oakland as this may be his last chance to prove himself as the number one back with the Raiders. Even though the team should be much improved this season, I believe the Raiders running back will continue to underachieve and be a bust once again.

Other notable RBs: Jerious Norwood, Atlanta Falcons; Kevin Smith, Detroit Lions; Fred Jackson, Buffalo Bills

Wide Receivers

Antonio Bryant, Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals made a drastic move this offseason by signing one of the most controversial wide receivers in the game in five-time All-Pro Terrell Owens.

With T.O. taking over the second spot behind Chad Ochocinco downfield this season, the newly acquired Antonio Bryant will have to take a backseat and could quite possibly turn out to be a fantasy bust if T.O. has a good year.

Other notables WRs: Deion Branch, Seattle Seahawks; Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys; Dwayne Jarrett, Carolina Panthers; Darius Heyward-Bey, Oakland Raiders

Tight End

Jeremy Shockey, New Orleans Saints

It wasn’t that long ago that Jeremy Shockey was considered one of the best tight ends in the game with the likes of Antonio Gates and Jason Witten, but with time passing by and injury after injury, Shockey has become nothing more than just a mediocre tight end.

Even though Shockey has one of the best quarterbacks in the game throwing him passes in perennial Pro Bowler Drew Brees, I still believe Shockey will turn out to be a fantasy bust this season with five TDs being the max.

Other notable TEs: Kellen Winslow Jr., Tampa Bay Bucs; John Carlson, Seattle Seahawks
