While none of the four NBA Playoff series has a clear-cut favorite to march on, this past weekend proved that a couple of teams are beginning to separate from their opponents. As expected, the Heat rebounded from a sluggish Game 1 to seize control against the Bulls. Out West, the Grizzlies did the same versus the Thunder by utilizing an ugly brand of basketball to win their second straight. Here’s how the action went down and what it means going forward.

Bosh sighting – Chris Bosh has been relatively quiet thus far this postseason, but his dominating 20 point/19 rebound effort in Friday’s Game 3 victory was impressive. With Dwyane Wade struggling, someone besides Ray Allen needs to provide scoring punch. Maybe Bosh is done going MIA.

Lee limited – Warriors power forward David Lee logged 11 minutes in Games 2 and 3, totaling 5 points and 7 rebounds. He is obviously laboring and admitted he’ll need surgery after the season, but he’s certainly gaining tough guy points for remaining in uniform.

More from Martin – Kevin Martin’s 25 points in Game 1 against the Grizz was integral to Oklahoma City pulling out the win. However, his underwhelming performances in Game 2 and 3 defeats were equally important. With no Russell Westbrook, the Thunder can ill afford for Martin to be slumping.

Melo going solo – Carmelo Anthony scored 21 points in the Knicks Game 3 loss to Indiana. The other four starters totaled 23, including point guard Pablo Prigioni’s second goose egg in three games. The Pacers are still wildly inconsistent, but until the Knicks get more from the rest of their roster, they are in trouble.

Golden State growing – Regardless of how long the Warriors last this postseason, their presence has made the proceedings highly entertaining. Stephen Curry is blossoming before our eyes, and players like Klay Thompson, Harrison Barnes and Jarrett Jack are building reputations. The Spurs are a veteran bunch who never panic, but it will take every bit of experience they have to dispose of Golden State.
