In the thick of the 2013 NBA postseason, there are plenty of stories making headlines both on and off the court. Injury updates, coaching rumors, and draft news are just some of the reports circulating across the interwebs. To help navigate this evergrowing mountain of bites and blurbs, here are the ones that matter most.

Knicks get defensive – New York evened its Eastern Semifinals series with Indiana by forcing 21 turnovers and converting those into a whopping 32 points. As they did against Atlanta in the first round, the Pacers continue to vacillate between good and bad performances.

Bron on Rob? – In wake of Miami’s surprising Game 1 loss to the Bulls, the team is searching for ways to ensure they don’t go down 0-2 in the series. Nate Robinson, in particular, is drawing extra attention. After dropping 27 points on Monday, it’s possible that LeBron James will shadow him for portions of Game 2.

Deng still dinged – One of the reasons Bron might move to the backcourt is because Luol Deng won’t be available for Game 2. He is still recovering from the spinal tap he received last weekend. The good news is he’s out of the hospital. The bad news is he likely won’t be ready for Friday’s Game 3.

Phil says no to Nets – As expected, Phil Jackson turned down Brooklyn’s offer to take over head coaching duties. Apparently, Nets’ brass wasn’t prepared to give Jackson the keys to the franchise as far as personnel decisions are concerned.

Surgery for Bennett - Potential Top 10 draft pick Anthony Bennett is set to go under the knife to repair his left rotator cuff. The UNLV power forward could miss up to four months of action. Despite the red flag, Bennett’s stock shouldn’t be affected.

Paul staying put? – Chris Paul is set to become an unrestricted free agent, putting his return to the Clippers in doubt. Clippers VP Gary Sacks is confident the team will be able to re-sign Paul, unless another bidder sweeps in with a ridiculous offer. Obviously, retaining the six-time All-Star is vital to the Clippers future success.
