NBA Betting Odds: Utah Jazz at Golden State Warriors
Added on Jan 30, 2011 by Jack Thurman in
Sportsbooks will be offering plenty of basketball betting action on Sunday and we’ll take a look at a NBA Western Conference matchup between a pair of slumping teams. The Utah Jazz are coming off a win but have lost 6 of their last 7. They’ll travel to Golden State where the Warriors have lost four straight games.

Until recently, the Warriors had been one of the stronger NBA betting investments available and especially on their home court. Before failing to get the money in their past three games Golden State had cashed tickets in 12 of their last 16 contests. The Jazz, meanwhile, have been at the other extreme as a pointspread investment losing 14 of their L18 against the spread. Utah has been a decent road team this season with a 13-10 SU/11-12 ATS record away from Salt Lake City.
We respect the improvement of this Golden State team especially on their home floor, but we’re not sure that they’ve earned the right to be favored in this matchup. Of particular concern is the Warriors less than impressive performance against teams with a winning record–this year they’re 2-15 SU/6-11 ATS against opponents with a record of .500 or better. The Jazz, meanwhile, are 18-5 SU against opponents with a record of .500 or worse and since they’re underdogs here all they need to do is win the game outright. Utah has won 4 of the last 5 head to head including 19 of the last 30 on the Warriors home floor. We’ll look for Utah to salvage the win and at this price that’s all we need them to do.
UPDATE: Jazz will be without Deron Williams tonight, but that’s going to get us even more line value. Still think Utah is still the play even without their All Star point guard.
Bet Utah Jazz +4 over Golden State Warriors
