NBA Betting Odds: Oklahoma City Thunder at New York Knicks
Added on Dec 22, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
The New York Knicks weren’t able to convince LeBron James to come to ‘The Big Apple’ but they did land Amare Stoudamire and he’s been playing like a man possessed. More importantly, he’s generating some excitement around a team that has been near the bottom of the New York food chain since the great Patrick Ewing led teams. The Thunder are also a team on the rise behind scoring machine Kevin Durant and the two will meet on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks are already out of range of the Atlantic Division leading Boston Celtics, but they are firmly in control of second place. In fact, they’re the only other team in the division with a winning record at 16-12. So far this season they’ve been better on the road (10-5 SU) than at home (6-7 SU). Obviously they want to change that and a game against the Thunder should find New York focused and anxious to break a 3 game losing streak. A little personal rivalry never hurts motivation, and Amare Stoudamire should bring his ‘A Game’ against the league’s current points leader–and particularly since Amare is in second place.
Perfect scheduling set up for the home team–they’ve been off since Saturday and don’t play again until next Saturday. OKC, meanwhile, have played twice since then including last night in Charlotte. Knicks have been solid against Western Conference opponents this season with a 7-3 ATS mark. They’re also 18-9 ATS overall and this looks like an opportunity for a very strong effort. Even with the dismal teams that have played here at MSG in recent years they’ve always dominated in head to head play against OKC/Seattle with a 9-4 ATS mark. Thunder always show up with a good effort, but we look for the home team to win and cover this one.
