You’ll find plenty of basketball action on the board at your favorite online sportsbook this evening, and we’ll continue our look at the NBA with a non-conference game between the Memphis Grizzlies and New Jersey Nets. The Grizzlies are below the radar in the Western Conference but they’ve been in good form of late and have been a very strong team against the spread all season. The Nets have had their ups and downs, but are significantly improved from their disastrous performance last year.

The Nets have won 3 of 4 both straight up and against the spread after a rough few weeks, but for our purposes that just gets us better value on the NBA lines for this game. The Nets won and covered at Memphis earlier this season, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Grizzlies have been one of the best kept secrets–and best investments–in NBA basketball of late. Memphis is 27-17 ATS overall and 15-10 ATS on the road. They’ve also covered 11 of their last 16 games.
New Jersey has been a decent team to use in certain spots this season and they’ve got a winning pointspread record on their home floor (12-9 ATS). The best situation to use the Nets, however, is against a good team that might ‘overlook’ them. Memphis doesn’t fit that profile. New Jersey is 5-11 SU/4-12 ATS against opponents with losing records this season. For this handicap, the previous meeting in Memphis is also significant as the Grizzlies have been a strong investment in ‘revenge’ situations this season. Memphis is 16-8 ATS revenging a loss to an opponent. Memphis’s talented young nucleus of Zach Randolph, Rudy Gay and O.J. Mayo are the three best players in this game.
