NBA Betting Odds: Denver Nuggets at San Antonio Spurs
Added on Jan 16, 2011 by Jack Thurman in
The second of two NBA games for Sunday pits the Denver Nuggets against the San Antonio Spurs. The Nuggets have been erratic for much of the season and currently are in a bit of turmoil with a deal reportedly in the works to trade Carmelo Anthony. The Spurs have been in top form all season and currently have the NBA’s best record at 34-6.

On the surface, this would look like an easy spot to play on the Spurs. The Nuggets are just 16-21 ATS overall, 5-12 SU/7-10 ATS on the road and 7-10 ATS against opponents with winning records. In theory at least, this is the second of back to back games for Denver–they played lowly Cleveland at home last night while the Spurs were idle. The Spurs are a solid ATS team in most categories but perhaps their most impressive is the 14-5 ATS mark they boast against opponents with winning records. Surprisingly, the Nuggets have won 3 of the L4 meetings on the Spurs’ home court SU going a perfect 4-0 ATS.
San Antonio plays much better team defense which had us looking Under the total from the start, and the relatively high total on this game and the statistical data validated that approach. Spurs Under in 5 straight and 8 of 11, Denver 5-11-1 to the UN when playing opponents with winning records. 6 of the last 9 meetings overall and 4 straight in San Antonio have gone Under the total. Based on our numbers, this game will just barely crack the 200 mark giving us a nice overlay.
Bet San Antonio/Denver Under 211′
