NBA Betting Free Picks: Washington @ Milwaukee
Added on Mar 04, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Good sized slate of NBA sports betting opportunities on sportsbooks boards for Wednesday and we’ll take a look at the Milwaukee Bucks/Washington Wizards game. The Bucks have been playing some of the best basketball in the NBA of late, winning 7 of 10 and moving into the playoff picture. They’re currently in 7th place in the Eastern Conference just 1/2 game behind sixth place Chicago and 1 game behind fifth place Toronto. All things considered, Washington hasn’t fared as badly as many expected in the wake of the Gilbert Arenas situation and trades to free up cap space. They’re well off the playoff pace, but they’ve been playing reasonably well.

Typically we’re not fond of laying points in the NBA, but this looks like a spot where it should work. The Wizards and Bucks are playing a quick rematch series, with the second game set for Friday night in Washington. The Bucks have double revenge, having lost two games this year to the Wizards before all of their Gilbert Arenas issues began. Have to respect the way that the Wizards have been competing–the team has covered 7 of their L9 games–but with Milwaukee improving dramatically since the first of the year and looking to improve their playoff seedings they’re not going to sneak up on the Bucks here.
Milwaukee has been a veritable ATM machine for sports betting enthusiasts since early this year. Since mid January, the Bucks have only lost three times against the spread (17-3-1 ATS) and that performance isn’t a fluke as they went 14-7 SU during the run. They’re off a loss, making them an even more attractive proposition in this spot. Milwaukee is 37-21 ATS overall, 17-10 ATS at home and 16-8 ATS as a favorite. They covered their only spot as a double digit home favorite this year and are 9-3 ATS when looking to avenge a home loss. They’re 19-12 ATS in revenge spots overall. Wizards are only 10-14 ATS against teams with winning records, while the Bucks are 19-10 ATS against teams with losing records. Bucks have an opportunity to pick up two wins against an overmatched opponent, and we look for them to start with a blowout victory at home.
