NBA betting action takes us back into our favorite sportsbooks as the Orlando Magic travel to the ‘Windy City’ to take on the Chicago Bulls.  Orlando has been tearing it up lately, and has taken over sole possesion of 2nd place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference though they’re still 6 1/2 games behind the first place Cleveland Cavaliers.  Chicago has been playing better ball lately as well, and are now tied for 6th place in the conference.

Magic have won 9 of their L11 games including two victories over their conference rivals the Boston Celtics.  We’ll talk more about those games in a moment.  They’re 5-5-1 ATS during that run.  Bulls enter this game having won 11 of their L16 games straight up with 13 online betting pointspread covers in their last 20 games.  Chicago won and covered last night at Indiana, while the Magic were idle having played three games in the previous four nights.

Orlando has a huge lookahead spot here, with a nationally televised game against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow night.  And take a look at what happened to the Magic before their previous big rivalry games of late.  They hosted the Boston Celtics on 1/28, and lost outright at Memphis as -2 favorites in the game before.  On 2/7 they played at Boston and in the game before *that* lost outright to the Washington Wizards as -13 point home favorites.  We see a similar dynamic here, as Orlando faces a potentially dangerous team that doesn’t motivate them nearly as much as the ‘marquee name’ they’ll face in the subsequent game.  Some concern about the potential absence of Joakim Noah who has become a very valuable rebounder but has been struggling with a foot injury of late.  Still, the situational matchup is so good we just can’t pass it up.
