Sportsbooks offering a short card of NBA betting action for Monday, but we’ll try to find something to work with in a battle between Eastern Conference also-rans as the New York Knicks head to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers. The Sixers and Knicks are tied with Detroit for 10th, 11th and 12th in the Eastern Conference 9 1/2 games out of the final playoff spot and 28 1/2 games out of first place.

In a matchup between two bad teams you can always do worse than just taking the points. There’s a couple of other reasons that we’ll back New York here–Philadelphia may have the worst home court in the NBA. How bad are they? Their home record (10-21) isn’t much better than New York’s *road* record (9-22). Against the spread, their home record is even more pitiful–Philadelphia is 9-22 ATS at home, 2-5 SU/ATS as a home favorite of 3′ to 6 points and 7-15 ATS as a favorite overall. In all fairness, this is a bad pointspread catagory for New York as well with the Knicks just 2-6 SU/ATS as a road dog of 3′ to 6. Besides that, their sports betting pointspread numbers are all reasonable if not particularly great.
The two teams have met twice already this year, with each winning and covering on the road. Neither team has much in the way of recent form–New York is 4-6 SU/4-4-2 ATS in their L10 games while Philly is 1-9 SU/3-7 ATS in their L10. Knicks were off yesterday, while Philadelphia played and lost at Miami. Philadelphia at home is just an automatic go against and no one in their right mind wants to lay points with a team that has 1 SU win in their L10 games.
