NBA Betting Free Picks: Milwaukee @ Washington
Added on Mar 05, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Full slate of NBA betting action on online sportsbooks boards for Friday and we’ll take a look at an Eastern Conference clash between the Washington Wizards and Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks are the hottest team in the East right now and have moved into 6th place in the conference standings just 1/2 game behind 5th place Toronto. They’ve won 13 of their L17 games going 13-3-1 against the spread. The Wizards are headed in the other direction, tied with Philadelphia for 10th place in the conference. They’re 8 games behind Miami for the final playoff spot and haven’t really shown any signs of making a run.

These teams played Wednesday night in Milwaukee with the Bucks winning by 13 as a -10 home favorite. Were it any other team we might be interested in taking the home dog in this spot, though using the Wizards in that role doesn’t seem particularly prudent. Washington is 12-18 SU and ATS at home and are 13-28 SU/16-24-1 ATS in ‘revenge’ situations. They’re also 10-15 ATS against teams with winning records and a lowly 4-9 SU/ATS against the Central Division.
Milwaukee is just playing inspired basketball right now, though the public has been slow to catch on perhaps due to the season ending injury to leading scorer Michael Redd. The irony is that the Bucks have become a better all around team in Redd’s absence and particularly on the defensive end of the court. The Bucks are a great road investment with a 20-11 ATS mark and are 17-8 ATS as a favorite. Not surprisingly, they’ve dominated weaker teams posting a 20-10 ATS mark against opponents with losing records. They’ve covered 7 of the last 10 meetings with the Wizards including 3 of the last 4 in DC. They’re the significantly stronger team playing with a purpose right now and we’re not going to get in their way.
