NBA Betting Free Picks: Houston @ Milwaukee
Added on Feb 17, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Sportsbooks are offering a big slate of college hoop and NBA betting action for Wednesday and we’ll take a look at an inter-conference tilt between the Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets. Milwaukee is in 9th place in the Eastern Conference and has a playoff spot in sight. Houston is out of the playoff picture in the West at the moment and entered the All Star break in very bad form.

The Milwaukee Bucks have very quietly become one of the best investments in the NBA at the moment. The Bucks have won 8 of their L12 SU and covered 13 of their L17 games. They’re 14-7 ATS as a favorite and 16-8 SU/15-9 ATS at home. The Bucks are now 1 1/2 games out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and should they maintain their recent form they’ll very likely get there. They’ve really come together as a complete team since leading scorer Michael Redd went down with a season ending injury.
Houston, meanwhile, is going in the other direction. The Rockets have lost 7 of their L10 games SU and were destroyed on their home court by Utah in their first game back after the All Star Break. Their recent ATS form is much worse than their SU performance–the Rockets have failed to get the money in 12 of their L16 games. They do have a winning record as an underdog this year (13-11 ATS) but have been a loser on the road with a 12-14 ATS mark. And unlike many of the Western Conference teams that have feasted on their Eastern Conference counterparts this year the Rockets have been awful in non-conference games with a 6-11 SU/5-11 ATS mark.
Milwaukee played Houston tough on the road earlier this year, covering the spread in a three point loss. With these teams heading in different directions, we’ll look for Milwaukee to avenge their earlier defeat with a solid win and cover against the reeling Rockets.
