NBA Betting: Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks
Added on Jan 26, 2011 by Jack Thurman in
Good looking Wednesday card for those of us who like to bet on sports, and in this post we’ll turn to the NBA and look at an Eastern Conference matchup between the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks. Bucks have been struggling for most of the year due to a variety of injuries, and enter this game in third place in the Midwest Division. The Hawks have been in good form of late and are currently tied with Orlando for second place in the Southeast with both teams 2.5 games behind the Miami Heat.

The Atlanta Hawks have a reputation as a dysfunctional team, and you won’t hear any argument from us about that. They’re capable of looking like a championship contender one night and a lottery team the next night. They do enter this game off a solid win at improving Charlotte, but the game before were held to an embarrassing all time low (since the franchise moved to Atlanta at least) of 59 points by New Orleans. Milwaukee knows better than most teams just how erratic the Hawks can be–the Bucks almost upset the Hawks in the playoffs last year despite big man Andrew Bogut being sidelined. Milwaukee has already won one of the two meetings between the teams this season, beating the Hawks in Atlanta by 17 points as +6′ point NBA betting underdogs in mid November.
The horrible game against defensively tenacious New Orleans notwithstanding, Atlanta has been playing good ball of late. They’re 12-4 SU/10-6 ATS in their last 16 games and had little trouble with Milwaukee in the previous meeting between the two teams (Hawks won by 15 on this floor in late December). Bucks have lost 7 of 10 SU though they are 6-4 ATS during that stretch and their offense has been sputtering with Brandon Jennings sidelined with a broken foot. We’re getting a reasonable price here, and we’ll look for Atlanta to win and cover the spot.
