College Basketball Free Picks: Vanderbilt @ Florida
Added on Mar 03, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Sportsbooks are winding down their offering of regular season college basketball betting opportunities as the conference tournaments approach but we’ll take a position on tonight’s Southeastern Conference game between Vanderbilt and Florida. Vandy is only 1 game behind Kentucky for the SEC East lead, while Florida hasn’t fared as well in conference play despite a solid 20-9 record overall.

Good technical situation for a play on the home team. Florida is an unranked team favored over a ranked team, which is a technical situation that sharp players love. Making this more interesting is that Florida is an unranked 20 win team, and those are exceedingly rare. They’ll be trying to impress the NCAA selection committee and poll voters, so they should be primed for an exceptional effort here.
Vanderbilt has really hit the skids from a pointspread standpoint, going 4-7 ATS in their last 11 games. With the conference tournament on deck and a NCAA tournament bid all but secured already they don’t have much to play for in their remaining regular season games. On their home floor, Florida is 11-1 SU and 8-4 ATS against Vanderbilt, and has revenge for an 8 point loss in Nashville in early January. Gators won both games last year by double digits, and look for them to win and cover tonight.
