We’ve talked about this before, but a good way to find wagering value at this stage of the college basketball sports betting season is to look for ATS situations that have been profitable all year and go the other way. Oregon State has been one of the best underdogs in college hoops this year–Beavers are 11-3 ATS overall as a dog, 9-1 ATS as a road dog and a perfect 6-0 ATS as an underdog in this price range (6′ to 9 points). They’re also 10-5 ATS in conference, and 13-1 ATS against teams with winning records. USC, conversely, has been a horrible favorite with a 4-12 ATS mark laying points.
At this juncture, however, what these records can do is produce some interesting linesmaking dynamics that give us added value on the favorite. Tough matchup for Oregon State, who’ll have to deal with the Trojans size and defensive tenacity. The teams that are most capable of hurting USC are ones that have good outside shooting in the backcourt, and that’s something the Beavers lack. Trojans still alive for postseason play, and they’ll shut down Oregon State in this game.
