Sportsbooks offering a full slate of baseball betting opportunities for Saturday, and we’ll look at an Interleague game between the Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds. Reds have slipped a 1/2 game behind St. Louis in the NL Central, while Seattle is deep in the AL West cellar 13 games out of first place and six games behind third place Oakland. This game goes at 7:10 PM Pacific from Safeco Field:
Cincinnati (Lecure) at Seattle (Hernandez)
June 19, 7:10 PM Pacific
Seattle has improved their play at home from earlier this season, but they’re still just 16-17 -3.3 units at Safeco Field. Despite getting decent pitching from tonight’s starter Felix Hernandez and Cliff Lee, their biggest problem has been their nonexistant offense. Seattle is hitting .240 and averaging just 3.4 runs per game. The Reds pitching isn’t anything special but they’ve hit the ball well–their .277 team batting average leads the National League and they’ve also got the most runs scored in the senior circuit this season with 336–11 more than second place Atlanta.
The Reds will start Sam Lecure tonight and he’s pitched reasonably well with a 3.75 ERA. Felix Hernandez is by all accounts a solid pitcher, but his ERA isn’t much better at 3.61. The Reds offense was nonexistant against southpaw but look for them to fare much better tonight against RHP Hernandez–Cincy is hitting .278 and averaging 5 runs per game against right handers with a 26-21 +5 unit record. Seattle is 19-27 -9.6 units against righthanders this season, which is bad news against the hard hitting Cincinnati lineup. Reds get back into the win column with a victory here and we’re getting them at a nice underdog price.
Bet Cincinnati (Lecure) +175 over Seattle (Hernandez)
