MLB Betting Free Picks: Cincinnati @ Oakland
Added on Jun 21, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Sportsbooks offering a very short slate of baseball betting opportunities for Monday, but we’ll take a look at an Interleague game between the Cincinnati Reds and Oakland A’s. Cincinnati has dropped 1.5 games behind St. Louis in the NL Central, while Oakland is now in third place in the AL West a full eight games behind division leading Texas.
Cincinnati Reds (Leake) at Oakland A’s (Gonzalez)

Neither team in good form at the moment, having lost 7 of their last 10 games. Reds starter Mike Leake has been solid this year, with a 3.02 ERA and a 1.67 mark on the road. Oakland’s Gio Gonzales has a 4.21 ERA overall but has a 2.90 ERA at home where the A’s have won 4 of his 6 starts. He’s one of the more underrated southpaws in the game at the moment, and its worth noting that the Reds have lost money against LHP both overall and on the road. They lost twice to lefties in the recently completing series at Seattle, with the Reds failing to score a run in either game.
Oakland is a very good home team with a record of 21-13 good for +7.8 units of profit while Cincinnati is just 14-16 on the road and has lost 6 of 9 Interleague games this year. In general, Mike Leake is a pitcher we look to play on but in this situation against a good home team with a strong left handed pitcher his reputation gives us a nice value opportunity going the other way. Look for Cincinnati’s woes to continue until they return home to face their instate rivals the Cleveland Indians later this week.
