-It is being reported that undefeated superstar Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has been named a suspect in a domestic violence case stemming from an incident earlier this morning. His former girlfriend, Josie Harris, requested police presence at his Las Vegas residence and is expected to file for a restraining order against the pound for pound king. This isn’t the first time the two have had domestic issues, and at this time no arrests have been made.
-The proposed Showtime Championship Boxing double-header featuring Vic Darchinyan and Abner Mares and Joseph Agbeko as he takes on Yonnhy Perez will now take place on December 11 rather than the original scheduled date of December 18. The four fighter Bantamweight tournament will kick off in Mexico.
-After suffering back to back defeats, former pound for pound great Roy Jones, Jr. looks to get back in the win column as he takes on the relatively unknown Danny Santiago in a 10 round event in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida.
-A source close to the situation has informed me that a deal with ESPN to televise the super middleweight title fight between Lucian Bute and Jessie Brinkley on October 15 is looking good but not yet completely finalized.
-According to the St. Louis trainer and manager, Kevin Cunningham, team Devon Alexander has agreed to terms for a long awaited matchup with fellow junior welterweight Timothy Bradley, and is just waiting for promoter Gary Shaw and Bradley to sign as well.
-Former undisputed middleweight champ Bernard Hopkins is expected to challenge Jean Pascal for his WBC Light Heavyweight title on December 18. Pascal is coming off of a big win over the highly touted Chad Dawson while the 45 year old Hopkins’ most recent outing resulted in a lackluster win over Roy Jones, Jr.
-Freddie Roach will spend much of his time in the Philippines as he helps the Filipino icon, Manny Pacquiao, train for his upcoming fight against Antonio Margarito in November. Roach had planned to bring in another one of his fighters in Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. to help Pacquiao out as he has done in the past. However, Chavez is now stating that he isn’t to keen on traveling to the Philippines which would not only throw a wrench in Pacquiao preperations, but would completely stifle his own camp for a December proposed showdown with Puerto Rican superstar, Miguel Cotto.
-As far as the undercard of November’s Manny Pacquiao/Antonio Margarito showdown, Top Rank is close to finalizing a deal for the return of former middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik where he would take on Daniel Edouard in a catchweight bout.
-Fighters weighed in today for tomorrow nights ShoBox: The Next Generation telecast, weights are as follows:

Sounds to me like Chavez Jr is already finding ways to exit stage left for his bout with Cotto. I know Top Rank is the master of building fighters up with not many very tough fights but they are getting worse by the yr. I mean damn even Dela Hoya and Floyd fought good guys by their late teens(matches). Jr hasn’t fought 3 solid guys yet and he is damn near 50 fights in! At some point he has got to fight. Now that he is supposedly going to be in with someone with a pulse he is having issues with camp. LOL hilarious!
