-Tomasz Adamek disposed of heavyweight journeyman Vinny Maddalone in the fifth round after dropping the tough Italian before his corner threw in the towel after further punishment. Time of stoppage was 2:17. With the win Adamek retained his IBF International and WBO NABO Heavyweight straps.
Adamek is now 4-0 as a heavyweight and his handlers stated during the post fight press conference that there is a strong possibility that he returns to the ring in April with Roy Jones Jr. as a possible opponent.
-With his recent dominant win Nonito Donaire set up a bantamweight showdown with unified champ Fernando Montiel. Donaire stated recently that if victorious in that bout he’d like to move up to the junior featherweight division and take on WBO king Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.

-WBC Welterweight champ Andre Berto made it clear that he has no problem taking on smaller guys for big money as he recently showed interest in taking on the winner of tomorrow night’s Khan vs. Maidana bout. Khan, who could possibly (if victorious) find himself in a unification fight with the winner of 2011′s clash between Devon Alexander and Timothy Bradley, expressed interest in a future clash with Berto stating he plans to make the move up to welterweight.
