CAGE

One of the few perks to my job is that I watch people punch and kick each other for a living. I’ve seen bones break inches from my cage side seat, I’ve seen hundreds of men and women choked out cold, and I’ve had blood stream across my laptop as fighters were pounded out in front of me. Another one of the the perks is that people around the world know I love a good knock out, and you the reader get to benefit from this. Check out these two knock outs, from two young fighters, from two corners of the world.

First up we have Cory Tait from the United Kingdom. Cory fought in his first professional mixed martial arts fight, and was able to do something I have NEVER seen in the the cage or ring before. The fight took place in London, England, at Ultimate Challenge M.M.A on October 23. We pick up the action at the beginning of the second round.

Thats right, a crescent kick/front kick knock out. Most fighters use the front kick to get some distance away from an opponent coming forward, but not Tait. Tait sends Dino Gambatesa tot he ground like a sack of door knobs in seconds. Cory Tait wins this fight by Knock Out, ten seconds into the second round.

This one comes from the MMA blog middleeasy. According to their site this was a title fight, but I haven’t found anything to back that up yet. I am assuming it was an amateur title, because I am not finding him listed as a professional. It doesn’t take anything away from this KO. The fight took place at Caged Chaos event Punishment on October 16.

OK, a one punch knock out. Yes, we have all seen them. However, for an 18 year old fighter winning an amateur title, he deserves a round of applause. Lets all congratulate Charlie Ontiveros on his new welterweight title!
