Fantasy Football: Players to Pickup in Week 8
Added on Oct 28, 2010 by Barry in
Quarterback
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills may be the worst team in the league right now in terms of records as they are the only team in the NFL without a win heading into Week 8, but they do have some very talented players with a huge upside in terms of the fantasy football value.
The one player above all else that proved his worth last week was quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick as he threw for almost 400 yards and four touchdowns. If you need a QB, Fitzpatrick is an ideal candidate.
Running Back
Reggie Bush, New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints may be struggling to get back to form this season as they seem to be shell of their former self, but they are as resilient as any team in the league and will have one really important player back on the field this week in running back Reggie Bush.
Even though Bush has been extremely streaky over the years and quite injury prone, if you need a running back he isn’t a bad option as he is always a threat to score a touchdown every single week.
Wide Receiver
Steve Johnson, Buffalo Bills
Lee Evans may be the main target for Ryan Fitzpatrick in the Buffalo Bills offense, but Steve Johnson proved he is a viable second option as he is coming off a 100-yard performance with one touchdown.
Tight End
Todd Heap, Baltimore Ravens
Quarterback Joe Flacco, wide receiver Anquan Boldin and running back Ray Rice are the number one options in the Baltimore Ravens offense, but tight end Todd Heap is a legitimate option in the redzone which gives him some fantasy value moving forward.
Defense
Washington Redskins
The Washington Redskins might not be the most dominant defense in the league, but they are a viable option if you need a replacement for a bye week. Last week DeAngelo Hall had four interceptions and proved that the Redskins defense can have some fantasy value.
