The UFC and Chuck Liddell have been quiet on what they both plan on doing. It was before his last fight when UFC President Dana White was adamant about not seeing his good friend, and ex-client (Dana used to manage him) fight again in the Octagon. The story played out and before everyone knew what was going on, Chuck was Coaching the Ultimate Fighter reality show against bitter rival Tito Ortiz. The whole season comes full circle when the teams coaches fight. However, Tito Ortiz informed Dana during the show he was injured and needed treatment on his back. The show showed White agreeing to take care of Tito’s care, but forced him to leave the show.

Former Middleweight Champion Rich “Ace” Franklin stepped in to coach the last few weeks of the show, and agreed to face the legend in the octagon. Even though Chuck managed to break Franklin’s arm with a head kick he threw, Rick Franklin knocked out the iceman with 5 seconds left in the first round. This didn’t come as a surprise to anyone, as Chuck Liddell has been TKO/KO four of his last 6 fights. Chuck only managed to win one of those six fights.

Liddell quickly told the press after the fight he was in no condition to make up his mind about his future, and wanted to take some time off before making up his mind. At the press conference that night White was quick to say “I don’t want to see him fight anymore.” It seems Dana hasn’t changed his tune. Even though Chuck has been telling fans at Q&A sessions that he would be making his mind up soon, and he even told a team on this season of TUF that he would love another shot at Tito Ortiz, Dana has broken his silence.

White spoke out: “I don’t want Chuck to fight anymore, Chuck’s one of my good friends, and I don’t want him to fight anymore. Chuck’s been a warrior, he’s been a great champion, and a great friend and a great partner, I don’t want to see it anymore.”

We have heard this before. Last time Chuck managed to get his way, and came into the fight in great shape. The rivalry between Tito and Chuck hasn’t calm down at all, and it will be interesting to see if the fight comes to fruition. Chuck Liddell was inducted in the UFC Hall Of Fame, and when you add in the fact that he has already beaten Tito twice, one has to wonder what exactly he has to prove. Chuck has said “Man I’d really like a shot at Tito, and shut him up one last time,” but this could also be the general disdain they have always between the two.
