They managed to defeat the New Jersey Devils in the third game of the season 3 to 1. The Capitals have only dropped on game so far, and have won 3 out of the four games they have played.

The series will film the run up to the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic 2011. The game will take place out side at Heinze Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is the second time the Penguins will be in the winter classic, and the first for the Capitals.
