UFC 120: Weigh In Results
Added on Oct 15, 2010 by John Petit in
The UFC 120 weigh-ins went off with out a hitch this morning, and all fights are scheduled to happen as planned. The British fans were in full force to see Ultimate Fighter Season 3 winner Michael Bisping, and his fellow British compatriots, take to the scales. The event will feature the middle weight fight between Bisping and Yoshihiro Akiyama, and the co-main event between Mike Pyle and Carlos Condit.
Michael Bisping is coming off of a win over former IFL champion Dan Miller at UFC 114 where he got the unanimous decision nod. The Count has been able to finish 12 of his opponents out of 19 wins, and only was finished once himself. Former Pride champion, and UFC Veteran, Dan Henderson landed a crushing blow knocking him out at UFC 100.
Akiyama is coming off a loss to Chris Leben where he was arguably winning the fight, but was forced to tap to a triangle late in the third round. The former K-1 superstar, and Dream fighter, is rarely part of a boring fight. Although he only has one other UFC fight, a split decision over Alan Belcher, rookie status doesn’t apply to him. He has been a part of big fights all over the globe, and has an excellent chance at beating Michael Bisping on his home soil.
UFC 120 will air on tape delay FREE on Spike TV in the states, and will run live in Europe and Canada. The event will take place at the 02 arena in London, England on weekend where they are also hosting the first UFC Expo in Europe.
