Strikeforce Signs Paul Daley

Strikeforce announced yesterday that a multi-fight deal has been reached with top-ten welterweight Paul Daley to fight for the promotion. Daley has been one of the hottest free agents in the sport since he was expelled from the UFC following his fight with Josh Koscheck where he punched Koscheck after the fight was over.
“I’m looking forward to fighting for Strikeforce and would really love to fight Nick Diaz,” Daley said. “He’s a big name and a great fighter. Diaz would bring out the best in me and would be a great test.”
This comes as the second major acquisition this week for Strikeforce, as they just recently signed heavyweight Josh Barnett.
Daley has won two in a row and is 6-1 in his last seven. Before leaving the UFC, Daley stopped both Martin Kampmann and Dustin Hazelett in the first round.
“I am a striker, there is no secret about that,” the exciting British bomber said. “I like to knock people out aggressively and quickly. That’s my game and no opponent’s going to change that. Almost all my fights are exciting and memorable with non-stop action.”
Paul Daley and Josh Barnett are exactly the kind of fighters that Strikeforce needs to sign. They are highly rated free agents that the UFC wants nothing to do with, yet fans still want to see. Also, Nick Diaz is one of Strikeforce’s biggest attractions and they need to keep lining up big fights for him before he runs out of solid competition.
