'Don't worry Boston...my face didn't suffer any abrasions....'

Now isn’t this just a wicked pissah?  New England Patriots’ starting quarterback Tom Brady was in a minor car accident today that left him unhurt but late for practice.  No doubt this was some sort of plot hatched by a sketchy Cincinnati Bengals fan because everyone knows that Boston is full of well maintained roads and extremely safe drivers.    Coach Belichick told the team about the accident before practice began, presumably to prepare them for the worst.  But here comes Tom, who then participates in a full practice like he was Superman or Larry Bird or some other mythical superhero.  That Brady….he’s a gameah!

Outside linebacker Tully Banta-Cain suggested that the situation was well in hand and that Brady emerged from the accident unscathed:

“He didn’t make it seem like it was anything serious.  I saw [Brady] a little while ago and he looks OK. I saw him walking in, he had a smile on his face, no abrasions. I think he’s fine. That was my first reaction.”

As long as there weren’t no abrasions on his face!  Never mind if he can walk or throw, but we can’t mess up Brady’s handsome face!  He’s got to be more careful—maybe he should take the T instead of driving.  At least he wasn’t out on The Pike when this accident happened, as it could have been much worse.  Hopefully they bagged the perpatratah that tried to run Brady off the road.

Alls I know is that like rookie tight end Rob Gronowski, we’re all wicked concerned:

“We’re just all thankful he’s fine, and glad he’s back here already, and back working. Obviously it’s a shock, no matter who it is. You never want to hear information like that. We’re all thankful everyone is all right and he’s here.”

Brady was too focused on getting ready to lead the Patriots to the Superbowl to comment on the situation, but his agent David Yee did his job and didn’t blame the Bengals, or the other driver, or New York City fans like he should have.  He didn’t even suggest that the other driver forgot to turn on his directional before he went to hang a youie:

“I want to thank the safety personnel for their service, and express our concern and support for the well-being of the occupants of the other vehicle. I don’t have any other information to share at this time.”

Brady didn’t even go up the hospital—he went right to practice.  The man has balls.  He whipped some passes around to his teammates like nothing happened.  So everything looks fine for Sunday, when the Patriots will play the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL season opener.
