A lot of attention in fantasy football gets geared towards running backs and quarterbacks as they can put up big numbers on a weekly basis and single handedly led your team to victory, but the wide receiver position gets overlooked despite having players like Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne that can put up numbers that can rival some of the best running backs in the league.

Even though having either one of these Pro Bowl wideouts on your team will greatly improve your chances at becoming the fantasy football champion in your league, if you had to pick between one or the other which one would be the better pick?

Andre Johnson, Houston Texans (1,569 yards, 9 TDs)

Upside: Even though Andre Johnson is kind of a quiet guy, which is really uncharacteristic of a big-name wide receiver in the NFL, the perennial Pro Bowl wideout does his talking on the field as he consistently puts up big numbers every single season.

The past two seasons Johnson has led the league in receiving yards (2008: 1,575 yards, 8 TDs; 2009: 1,569 yards, 9 TDs ) and this season he might make it a third.

Downside: There is no question that Andre Johnson is arguably the best wide receiver in the league right now, but with Matt Schaub’s injury history, taking Johnson over Reggie Wayne is questionable as we know that Peyton Manning will be on the gridiron every Sunday.

Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts (1,264 yards, 10 TDs)

Upside: With the best quarterback in the league throwing you touchdown passes every week, your job gets pretty easy as you just have to be where your supposed to be and wait for the football.

This season the Indianapolis Colts will be shooting for the Super Bowl once again and that means it could be another big year for Reggie Wayne as he will be the go to guy in the Colts offense. With the emergence of Pierre Garcon last season, the pressure will be off Wayne this season and he will see more single coverage, which is music to Peyton Manning’s ears.

Downside: If Pierre Garcon becomes a more viable option for Peyton Manning in the Indianapolis Colts offense, Reggie Wayne could take a backseat to the youngster, but something tells me that just isn’t going to happen unless Wayne gets injured.

Verdict: Reggie Wayne
