Baltimore Ravens v Miami Dolphins

More Week 2 NFL preseason betting on Saturday as the Washington Redskins host the Baltimore Ravens in a battle of regional rivals.  Both teams opened the exhibition campaign with a victory as Baltimore topped Carolina and Washington routed the hapless Buffalo Bills in Mike Shanahan’s first game at the coaching reins.

Ravens known for their defense, and they’ve been a good preseason Under bet during the John Harbaugh era.  Once again failing to exceed the total against Carolina, Baltimore now has 7 Unders in 9 games with Harbaugh as coach.  We don’t think it’ll go to number eight this weekend.

Washington came out slinging in their first game, dropping 42 points on the Buffalo Bills.  They’ll likely continue to play the same way this weekend, but in that rout there’s some concern about the Skins’ defense which gave up 17 points to a pitiful Buffalo offense.  Ravens obviously won’t be bringing the same defensive intensity they do in the regular season here, and there’s a good chance that they’ll be happy to trade points with Washington.  Baltimore brought in veteran QB Marc Bulger to put pressure on Joe Flacco and part of that objective is to get Flacco to improve his passing game.  Bulger’s first drive in a Ravens’ uniform featured 11 straight passes.

The sum total is that we’ve got a number of decent quarterbacks in the rotation for both teams who’ll be looking to throw the football.  Baltimore should be able to move the ball effectively against Washington’s defense, and the Redskins will once again be looking to establish their offensive identity with Donovan McNabb and backup Rex Grossman.  And if the air attack fails, keep in mind that both team have very good depth at running back.  This is the highest total of the week for good reason—this game should sail over the total with both teams scoring at least 20 points each.
