Since the first of the year the Jazz have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA, and are currently in a three way battle with Denver and Dallas for 2nd place in the West. Indiana has played reasonably well of late though they’re well out of the playoff hunt.

Sometimes handicapping sports looks really easy, and plays that are ‘too obvious’ are often ones that lose. Having that said, its tough to make a case for the home team in this matchup. Pacers have been on a nice pointspread run of late, covering 7 straight games and 10 of 11. But its not like Utah is an underperforming pointspread investment either–the Jazz have covered 15 of their L21 games and have been at their best as a favorite (32-15 ATS) and against the Eastern Conference (19-7 ATS). They’re also 7-0 SU/6-1 ATS as a road favorite of 3′ to 6 points. Jazz have won three straight in the series head to head and won by 12 here last season. This is a better Utah team, while the same thing can’t really be said about Indiana. Pacers live and die by their outside shooting, so if their shots are falling they could keep this close. If they’re not, Utah wins easily.
